Meet Lisa

The emerging women’s health market is a $3 billion industry.

I am passionate about keeping women at the center of their market.

We can do this by supporting women with big ideas to reach for the impossible - and make it possible.

Hi, I’m Lisa Marceau.

I started Alpha Millennial Health and Joyuus because there are gaps in health that need to be filled.

After a fulfilling career in research, product development and senior leadership, I was determined to translate my career into supporting the paradigm shift in healthcare and women’s health.

FINDING EQUITY

I am proud of my journey and its squiggly line of experiences.

I started out in Washington DC, writing multi-million dollar grants for OSHA and Superfund programs. I was exposed to the fundamental health disparities that result from health hazards near where people live and work. I advocated for change in policies that impacted women’s health and the environment in which we lived.

I moved to Boston, managing the office for a maternal-fetal-medicine group serving the most difficult pregnancies. It was humbling. Labels and demographics became secondary to seeking a healthy pregnancy.

I shifted into health research, to understand how we can improve care through defining best practices and understanding the root causes of disparities and bias.

LEADING CHANGE

My squiggly line continued when best practice and disparities collided. Too many were unable to access or achieve best practices, leaving them without the care they needed, so I initiated a digital strategies business unit to fill the gaps between best practices and real-world obstacles.

I had the privilege of directing an organization of talented researchers, experts, and leaders committed to meaningful change.

The details…

I have an MPH from Boston University and a Professional MBA Certificate from Bryant University. I was VP and executive director at NERI, where I created and led digital product research. I supported NERI’s acquisition by a Fortune 25 insurer and remained as VP until starting Alpha Millennial Health and the postpartum self-care platform, Joyuus.

My digital products have won numerous industry awards. I am a reviewer on NIH SBIR panels, and a Judge for the Telly Awards.

I have presented at many professional meetings and have published in esteemed peer-reviewed journals. I was recently a panel member at HPE Discover and the Women's Health Innovation Summit speaking on filling the gap in research and funding for women and minority health concerns.

My business is WBENC and WOSB certified, and I am a member of the Women Presidents Organization.

My Approach

Two things have stuck with me and they were the powerful forces for jumping off the cliff into entrepreneurship.

Everyone matters - collaboration is about listening and respecting different voices and perspectives. Everyone is a human being first, and a client, customer or both.

Health is a journey - it is made up of all of our experiences, and we need a better way to experience that journey.  Digital generations are shifting the paradigm and women’s health is a powerful emerging market. Together these trends will transform healthcare.

Let’s connect.
